Wholesale Market Conduct Risk

Description

In 2018, the Central Bank established a dedicated Wholesale Market Conduct Team in order to carry out market conduct risk assessments of firms engaging or applying to engage in wholesale market activity.

Due to the increase in scale and sophistication of wholesale financial market activity conducted in and from Ireland and by branches of Irish firms in other jurisdictions, the Central Bank has enhanced its approach to the supervision of this sector. This includes developing systematic capabilities to supervise conduct in wholesale markets.

This training module introduces the concept of market conduct risk in the wholesale markets, tracks global regulatory developments, and in particular industry communications and initiatives of the Central Bank. It is accompanied by an assessment that will assist the validation of Learner's knowledge and understanding of wholesale market conduct risk and support Learners to apply those learnings to their individual firms.
